Quantum Corporation provides management, storage, insights, classification of unstructured data. The company works with a network of distributors, VARs, DMRs, OEMs and other suppliers.

From its founding in 1980 until 2001, it was also a major disk storage manufacturer (usually second-place in market share behind Seagate), and was based in Milpitas, California. Quantum sold its hard disk drive business to Maxtor in 2001 and now focuses on integrated storage systems.

A former employee shares his opinion on indeed.com, "Recent reductions were made at Quantum to reduce staff by 10%. Additional and continuing reductions will be made. This company may be preparing to be sold. A stressful work environment."

Inventory lead (Former Employee) says

"Manager is self indulgent. Doesn’t actually care how smooth the warehouse run. They just care about getting the customers order out. Warehouse is complete disaster."

Water Truck Driver (Former Employee) says

"Worst thing about this place was no schedule and swing scheduling at that. Never new if you were going to be on night shift or day shift. On call 24 7 but never paid for on call. If they got rid of J.J. They might be able to keep work and drivers. Cons: Everything"

Sr PHP Engineer (Internet Engineering Team) says

"A former engineer took over the team in roughly August of 2013. It was a disaster from the beginning as he started out broadcasting he only wanted to have the manager title to promote his own career and his ideas. There was not one day going forward where this new "manager" actually tried to or succeeded in managing anyone on the team, complementing anyone for all the overtime or excellent work, managing the project, or handling himself in a professional manner. Cons: Horrible manager, Horrible team lead architect, working with him was a constant mind game, He called his team names, once called us a team of stupid monkeys, He spread negative rumors about everyone on the team as his way of getting us to do what he wanted"

Care Coordinator (Former Employee) says

"Everything seems all good and nice, you think people are nice and that the company really cares for you and before you know it with barely any warnings they fire you. I definitely wouldn't recommend people to work for this company. I know a lot of people that had gotten fired over things that the company didn't bother giving people a warning, just straight to a white box and being walked out with some idiot from HR who could careless to hear your side of the story"

Technical Support Engineer (Former Employee) says

"outdated tools, processes are complex, no knowledge management to speak of, utterly directionless from the CEO down to middle management, managers exert authority by creating fear of upper management. I cannot recommend this company at all. Cons: everything else"

Revisión de plastico rn quantum (Former Employee) says

"Son pocos considerados con los trabajadores tuve mala experiencia ahí"

Sustaining Engineer (Former Employee) says

"I worked at Quantum Corporation full-time (10 years). Company has been transitioning for several years and can't ever seem to get the stoke price up. Cons: Low stock price, reduction in benefits like automatic 401K matching, Layoffs multiple times per year the past few years"

Various Positions (Current Employee) says

"After working a couple of job opportunities there for about a year or so, never really heard from them again. I applied for a couple of temp and perm positions, but never any call backs."

Sr. Technical Writer (Former Employee) says

"In my almost 6 yrs, the finger pointing and blame were non-stop and management did nothing to remedy the situation. Management are only looking to keep their jobs and the amount of VPs is actually comical. Expect lots of emails complaining about quality but zero help improving the quality of documentation. The place is run by people completely disinterested in the day to day workings of the company. Tone-deaf is how I'd describe upper management. Cons: Too many to list"

Design Engineer (Former Employee) says

"Constant management changes made it difficult to understand what individual expectations were. Products that were developed and tested, more times than not, never made it to market."

Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) says

"A company that will eat you alive. Fingerpointing culture and negative atmosphere. The turn over is quite high which makes it impossible to follow best practices. Cons: Lowballing salaries, no benefits."

journalier (Former Employee) says

"agence de placement qui nous envoie a differente entreprise pour y effectuer des travaux journalier selon les besoin de l'entreprise Cons: pas de sécurité d'emploi ni de vie familial"

Part inspector (Former Employee) says

"I wouldn't recommend any of my family or friends to work here. Some people were nice. Most were two faced. Dont plan on being here long. There are clicks and if you dont fit in you'll get fired. Cons: Someone will stab you in the back. Keep your head down you lose, talk you lose. You wont win if they dont all like you."

Insurance Advisor (Former Employee) says

"only people i liked was the manager that was over me. the people here are drama filled and the company doesn't look out for its employees . they only care about the people that bringing in a lot of leads. Doesn't try to help improve you and they are very very unorganized. Cons: cut hours, deduct pay, not enough benefits"

Sales Associate (Former Employee) says

"I enjoyed my team and they worked hard and had good management. But the company as a whole is in a hard place when it comes to staffing and roles. Layoffs, reduced benefits, greater responsibilities placed on already full roles and uncertainty in direction of the company make for a stressful culture. Additionally, opportunities for advancement into other positions was limited by the current company situation."

Audit Supervisor (Current Employee) says

"Wake up between 430 and 530 am depending on how far away from the store you live. Start at 6. Your skill level depends on how fast you finish the first store. Then most of the time you have a second store at 12. Sometimes you work with others if the store is big enough sometimes you don't. Sometimes you have one store, two stores, three stores, or no stores. This job is very inconsistent. You get paid hourly so the worse you are at the job the more you get paid. But there is a productivity grade and if you get below that you might be let go. They want you to work hard so they can get their store done faster so they don't have to pay you as much. Cons: clietns can pick and choose when to leave dont sign contracts, so no job security unless youre promoted to DM, starting Dm positions dont pay enough to relocate your family to another state"

EH&S Engineer (Former Employee) says

"10-12 hour days are the norm. Workers were great people. Best part of job was helping people so they understood how to do their jobs without injuring themselves. Cons: very few employee functions"

Territory Sales Manager (Former Employee) says

"Employee turnover high (sales and management), good products, good systems, ok training, good culture. Management was not willing to listen to employees concerns."

Marketing Specialist (Former Employee) says

"Quantum has hit with so many changes over the past recent years and seems to be going downhill. Executives come and go and not able to breakthrough from the current rut and situation. Not being valued with all the hard work you put in but managers will take all your credit and claim as theirs. No career advancement, no direction for the team and will throw you under the bus if something fails. Apart from that, many stayed on with Quantum for years but most people left if they have a chance. Cons: Poor Management"

Former Employee - Marketing says

"I worked at Quantum Corporation full-time for more than 5 years Cons: Management doesn't listen to direct reports. Will not tolerate pushback."

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"I worked at Quantum Corporation full-time Cons: Lots of pressure and uncertainty."

Former Employee - Operations Manager says

"I worked at Quantum Corporation full-time for more than 3 years Cons: -inbred and many layers of mgmt. who are firmly stuck to the old status quo and refuse to listen/try any outside ideas. -arrogance of the mgmt and oblivious to all the ingrained poor, inefficient practices - not growing, not making money, no bonuses. -poor motivation and recognition practices -little in the way of new products and those are late and require hundreds of ECOs to achieve any kind of quality and reliability."

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"I have been working at Quantum Corporation full-time for more than 3 years Cons: Poor management. The executive team is nothing more than a corrupt boys club. They make selfish decisions without thinking about their people. The company is tanking and they have too much pride to admit it. It's sad."

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"I worked at Quantum Corporation full-time Cons: Terrible executive management team, poor financial decisions and risky sales practices is the root of the decline of Quantum."

Former Employee - Sales says

"I worked at Quantum Corporation full-time for less than a year Cons: Typical shareholder company....answers to its stockholders but doesn’t take care of its employees. Continuous layoffs. Last round of layoffs was 3 in 3 months. And 2 CEOs within 2 months. Hmmmm.... Crappy pay all around - not up to industry standards. Bonuses are laughable considering how hard you work for them. For the hours you work you’re better off bartending, as your hourly pay will be higher. Promotions are dependent on who you suck up to. Total politics. The “lower level” employees do all the work while upper management sits around drinking Starbucks while collecting a nice paycheck. There are several others layers of management (not upper-level) that are not needed. Too many processes that are redundant and unnecessary. Has the mentality that “This is how it’s already been done so why make changes? Obviously you need to make changes because people are quitting left and right like rats jumping a burning ship."

"I worked at Quantum Corporation for more than a year Cons: Quantum is the epitome of a corporation. So many office politics, exec staff that is making piles of money without doing anything to improve the company, and an expectation to treat anyone with a title above yours as royalty. I'll never forget when the execs had lunch in the office, and HR hid it from everyone else behind two signs in case GOD FORBID someone wanted to eat any remaining food. There's also some weird pattern of management and subordinates forming romances in a way that is super inappropriate and a conflict of interest. HR has blinders on, and it will get in the way of an already slim chance of a promotion."

"I worked at Quantum Corporation Cons: No clear direction, too many layers of management, several bosses all micro managers which limits creativity, initiative and is soul sucking"

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"I worked at Quantum Corporation full-time for more than 10 years Cons: Management shows little respect to employees. Many knee Jerk changes. No stability regarding course of action which changes rapidly. New CEO is very obvious that he was hired to cut, cut, cut and sell the company. My suggestions to all is keep looking and interviewing."

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"I worked at Quantum Corporation full-time for less than a year Cons: Too many to list but the top 3 start with SEC alligtions and they trickle all the way down the long ladder of management."
